now that im a bit more sober and thikning more clearly, here's the overall take-home point of my thread (i know im gettin serious now, wah wah wahhhhhh).
The rave/EDM scene in America used to be a lot more tolerant of both sexes, letting everyone let loose. But now it's turning into more of a shallow top40/pop joint where women are the center of attn and the only sex allowed on poles/boxes. That's just really lame. What next, discounts for them too at the door? To the clubs that do that...I mean common, why? They're not senior citizens. They're women. helllloooo they make 75 cents to the man's dollar now. So at least make them pay 75%, jeez. What happened to the days when the women gave my ass a good ol fashion groping? |
In all honesty, I blame the degradation of the rave scene on the hyphy movement. Nowadays, I see more and more thuggish kids bring their "hyphy" mentality into the scene and it just really ruins the vibe of things. A few years ago, I used to enjoy driving out to parties in the Bay Area because I loved the sort of vibe and a feeling of coming together when hundreds of people are dancing with you to the music that you all love. Now I wonder what is the point, when I'm starting to see the exact same shit over there that I can easily get here in the Valley. And the worst part is, most of these kids aren't even gangsters. They're just posers. And I'm sure you can expect a lot more of them trying to ridicule and punk gay guys because it's cool.
