You'd only have to worry about master/slave settings if you were installing the hard drive into another computer where there are existing hard drives.

I'd still recommend the USB Enclosure into a USB Port. That way master/slave settings become moot.

wiz: do this..run to the local computer shop. buy a 350watt power supply (PSU). install it. if this fixes the problem you have your computer back. if not remove said psu and return to store.

and id suggest getting a dell 1505n or a macbook pro 15".

if it sounds like its working, but theres no video, check the RAM

if the ram is dead and not registering then it will beep. do the psu thing i mentioned. this will really tell you if it is the mobo or the psu.
