... So confused as to whether Ron Paul is affiliating himself with the right party LOL!
Nonetheless I think there's a fairly good chance the next US President will be a Republican.
The Republicans fucked up with Bush. They know this. They don't have any particularly strong candidates, and the stats are stacked against them. I think that because of this, they're well aware that they have to play it smart. So they sit back, let the Democrats fuck around and put forth a frontrunner who is NOT ELECTABLE. Once it's decided that say, Obama is going to run against Republican X, Republican X will win by default. It's sad to say but Obama is NOT an electable candidate, and neither is Clinton, though I think she's a stronger candidate.
I think that there are still many many people in the US who feel that the only thing worse than having Bush as president is having a black man or a woman as president.
John Edwards is around, but he's not a strong enough candidate by himself. It's a shame Gore refuses to run. He'd win by a long shot. If things continue to go where they're going though, I really do see another Republican in office, but I guess any of them is better than Bush . The Democrats just need to stop fucking around with people who can't win. A Gore/Clinton campaign would work. An Edwards/Clinton campaign might work. This'll be interesting come election time.
