Have some grounding things as well, 5htp can take the edge off a trip, and if things get too intense, sit down and watch a dvd until you mellow a bit, I find stand-up comedies work great, Eddie Izzard is even more hilarious when you are off your nut

Havn't done LSD, but I've done shrooms a couple of times, probably the only phsycadelic I would want to do as well. Last for a short time, come down makes you feel like a million dollars, coudn't stop laughing, fun times. If you ever try any mind altering drug, the greatest thing to consider, like almost everyone has stated, is your enviorment and state of mind. If you got problems or are with the wrong people, you won't have a good time. Don't try them if you are in a bad state of mind, are with people who will purposely make you feel bad, etc. Pick a good outdoors place to do it, away from people, but with nature. If you do it at night, at somebody's house, watch a good movie or listen to music. And if you do any drug for the first time, I would always suggest doing it with someone you trust and has done the same drug before. That way, you know yo will experince it in good hands with someone who knows what is going to happen to you...

LSD is fucking great, its one of my favorite drugs. A few things to keep in mind when you do it the first time:

1. Don't be all paranoid about bad trips. More horseshit is talked about LSD than any other drug as far as negative effects go. An I'm not flat out calling your friends who say they get flashbacks liars, but that kinda thing is pretty rare. Typically what causes a bad trip is when someone is on a massive dose and they lose their sense of themselves and reality. I've had trips like this and while they were mentally crazy at the time I now consider them some of the best trips I ever had.

On a first timers 2 hit dose you are not going to see pink elephants, you are not going to think you are an orange, etc, most of these things are horseshit stories people tell to try and look cool in front of their friends but they just end up looking like idiots. I had to take some pretty hefty doses to start seeing things that were not there, like 10 hits of high quality liquid and 2 MDA pills. What you will see is color morphing, objects moving slightly in impossible ways (one example is the grout in the tile of my bathroom floor always looked like it was flowing like it was liquid), distortions of perception, objects shifting position slightly, etc. The higher the dosage you take, the more significant the effects are.

3. Acid is a fun drug, so go into it looking to have fun. As someone else said, don't trip with people who are drinking, they are annoying as fuck. Trip with other people who are tripping. Don't be all serious like "oh I'm going to mentally examine myself and my life during this trip", just have fun and enjoy the experience.

4. Get yourself some benzos for two reasons. If your trip should start going south or you start to notice yourself getting sketched take 2mg of xanax and it will straighten you right out and the rest of your trip will be chill. And they come in real handy when you are crashing and want to sleep, because it's real hard to sleep after you take acid but a couple mg of xanax will put you right out.

just be careful if you're gonna do it bud. we can all sit here and tell you about our experiences, but the reality is you still won't have a clue what it's like til you do it yourself. if you're looking for insight, be careful. if you're looking for fun, be even more careful. so long as you don't have any underlying psych problems you should be ok, but if you struggle with depression or anxiety you'd do well to stay away. bad trips, believe me, can be absolute nightmares that will leave you a different person (for better or worse).

it's been 10 years since i went on a series of bad trips one summer. it can give you insight into the nature of your soul and, perhaps by extension, the universe. it can also reveal an evil larger than any of us. anyone ever seen the evil grin (on lsd, shrooms, mdma)? i know others have, and let's just say it can leave you shaken.
