Heavy Rain 0100 Mon 25 1000 Mon 25
Rain is expected to become persistent and heavy, giving totals of 15 to 20mm in many places and locally 30mm. The public are advised to take extra care and refer to the latest Environment Agency Floodline and Flood Warnings in force' and refer to the Highways Agency for further information on traffic disruption on motorways and trunk roads. Since rainfall is forecast to continue, a further warning is likely to be issued during Monday morning.
and then
The Met Office continues to expect persistent, heavy rain to affect parts of England and Wales on Sunday night and Monday. Rainfall totals are likely to exceed 50mm in a broad band running from Yorkshire southwestwards to NE Wales, with up to 100mm or so locally. Areas immediately to the north and south of the band are also at risk of significant rainfall. The heaviest rainfall is likely to occur between 3am and 6pm on Monday. Forecast rainfall totals are exceptional, and given the saturated conditions, flooding and disruption are likely on a more widespread scale than occurred in recent days when heavy rainfall was quite localised. Strong to gale force Northerly winds will develop to the north and west of the rain band during Monday to add to the potential disruption. Flash messages will be issued as appropriate to supersede this warning. Additional Flash messages may be issued during Sunday to cater for more localised, heavy downpours. |
Damn!
Well, I don't necessarily want the rain (although it is a nice novelty these days), just the bloody water.
