being a good driver is all about knowing your limits and driving within them. so no, i don't consider many people to be good drivers because they have no fvcking idea just how dangerous driving is. and i am always the most scared in cars driven by women.

depends what you mean by good drivers

ie. do they obey the laws on driving, or are they skilled drivers..

generally in the uk, 99% of people obey the laws, we stop at traffic lights, we give way where its due and pedestrians take priority. Only rule thats broken by everyone is speeding, but even then its 10-20mph over the limit.

now italy and spain is another matter all together!

ive been to rome, piza, florence, barcelona, tarragona, where you chose to obey traffic lights, pedestrian crossings mean jack shit and you basically choose to follow the road laws, because the italian and spanish police place soooo little emphasis on road safety

in comparison, the italians even have the heavily armed guardia di finanza, the financial police, to safeguard the countries financial security... im sure more people die on their roads than through tax evasion

the occassional times where i drive automatics, they throw me off.
I get back in a manual and i'm waiting for the auto to shift up, and the engine keeps going higher and then i'm like "o shit" so i quickly try to shift and TTTTTRRRRRRRRRR.
Even when I am in automatics, i have to slap my hand away from the autoshift box. I've learned to stay away from the knob, but I still reach for the parking brake.
another reason why automatic shouldn't be a part of this world. fucking blondes

Lazy people like myself need automatics so that we can drive, change the cd, eat KFC and talk on the phone at the same time.

Definitely agree with that, that's what I meant when I said that good drivers need not necessarily obey the laws; as long as you know your limits you'll be fine.

OMG we're driving home from the beach today, and we're on this 4 lane expressway, when suddenly this fucking moron woman flies out from a side road, and then going 40 (we're going 80), decides to cut in front of us to make a left turn (which requires her to slam on the brakes within a 2 second span of cutting in front of us)... and mind you, she didn't check her blind spot.

Then when we obviously honked at her, slammed on the brakes and swerved to miss the fucking moron, she looks at us with a scowl and yells something like it was our fault.

I wanted to turn the car around, follow the bitch and slap her silly.

We have really idiotic drivers here. I live in a student city with 2 Uni's and a college. We have a crazy amount of young drivers, and then we have a lot of really old drivers too.

I am crazy cautious when I am driving. I think I am a good driver, and have been told I am... but I dunno, to other drivers, I might suck.

OH OH!!

The other day I was walking down the street with a girlfriend of mine... and this chick comes flying toward us in reverse, and isn't even looking. I jumped out of the way, and JUST missed getting hit. I yelled out "WATCH WHERE YOU'RE FUCKING GOING YOU DUMB BITCH". She had her window down, so she heard me, and she yelled "Sorry!!"

Seriously... she nearly took 2 people out because she couldn't be assed to turn her head around.

At home, most of the people don't have vehicles (you don't really need one if you have a bicycle) and those that do seem to drive okay. I don't remember ever seeing a "bad" driver.

I agree many drivers in the US are inconsiderate.

I learned how to drive two or three summers ago but I didn't take the license test; I should because I travel so much now between school and southern California and my aunt has a cool BMW M3 that I could use. The reason I haven't taken the test though is because I am seriously a bad driver. I know it. I forget to pay attention. I think I just day dream too much.

I LOVE it there.

Fuckin' Canadian drivers are horrid, well not not US I mean the immigrants here. The Paki vans filled with 10+ people crammed in a tiny minivan and the Asian are KNOWN as the worst drivers in Toronto. I'm not just saying this but the sats prove it. ( I have an article somewhere I'll try and dig it up.)

Oh and women. I , however, am great at driving minus my love for speed.
