He's not going to say "oh, yeah, I've been defrauding your insurance company. Whoops. Let me fix that."

Considering he's going to be scraping away in your mouth, I wouldn't want to piss him off, either.

It's lose-lose. Call your insurance company. You'll have to do it at some point, anyway, even in the best possible scenario (to check to see if he's straightened it out).

You're Russian and you're not the one scamming your insurance company?

...does not compute

well i asked him why is he charging me for over 10 fillings when I only felt him drilling about 4 teeth, and he said he put small fillings on a bunch of teeth without me even noticing! He'd say something like "oh well that tooth's filling looked like it was starting to wear down so I put a little bit of fresh coating on top just to make sure it's ok" - crap like that. Obviously he was looking for as much work as he could find in my mouth and a lot of what he did is probably unecessary.

He was like "you didn't call your insurance did you? Don't call them because then they'll make me charge you out of your pocket" Something like that sounds just shady to me. But ... will I call the insurance? Probably not. I don't really feel like paying my own money and he said that even if I run out of insurance for the year he'll cover me for free ... But i'm not going to him again, and it's a lesson learned.

He probably saw i'm a young kid straight outta college, living on my own again for the first time and having an insurance. He probably thought I didn't know much about this stuff and took my insurance for a ride ... well I learned my lesson and he won't be seeing me anymore. Not sure if it's worth trying to get anything back though, or try to prove that the work he did was unecessary and was only done to overcharge me.

It's funny how - over the past year - I've realized just how full of greed this world is.

This is a huge worry of mine as well, and honestly I would be confused as hell about what to do if I were in your position as well. I'm actually really glad you posted this thread just because it's a situation I can see myself winding up in and being utterly without a clue.

I guess my opinion would have been to go with the consensus and call the insurance company, but not knowing what the consequences of that could be is fucking creepy too.

Do you think you could still call them and at the very least express your concerns without them really taking any action immediately? Maybe they could explain something bettr than your dentist could?

Fuck. Being an adult is going to be hard.

Also did he actually do extra work, I mean you would have noticed right? Your dentist clearly has no problems lying so I wouldn't trust anything he told me.

Also, the world is not completely full of greed if it were you would have become desensitized by it by this point if it indeed was that prevalent. There are always going to be some bad people but I like to think of them as the minority.

To his defense, Trump didn't even really look like a bum.
