you're in grade 9-10 at that age in HIGHSCHOOL, thats not a grown up?

in Russia at the age of 15 you're officially allowed to graduate from school and go to work or start going to college, only in America people are led to believe that a 15y old is a still a child, bullshit

at the age of 15 they should at least be smart enough not to talk to random strangers on the net

kids talk to random strangers online for various reasons, they think they'll be cool enough to show off in front of their friends, and whatnot

and yeah, kids who graduate after grade 9 aren't very smart at all - they either do so badly in school, they are forced to leave after grade 9, or they can't be fucked to study anymore (I kept in contact with some school friends, and they told me that most of the dudes who would fail miserably in most of the subjects left school after grade 9, and sometimes would show up at big breaks to smoke and drink in front of the school)

so they might be street-smart, sure, but that's about it

I work with 15 year olds, and they are immature and very vulnerable.

They LIKE taking risks/rebelling and often dont have the same kind of decision making skills as what we would classify as an adult. Shit, some of the 20 year olds I know act the same way. 15 year olds are NOT adults, and NO ONE will convince me otherwise.

Actual age is really nothing but a number. I've met young teens who are very mature and have excellent decision making skills. On the otherhand I've met people in their late twenties who behave like children in my opinion.

Your ability to cope with these situations depends more on your life experience, and how you were raised than it does on you 'age'.

Still, Isn't everyone taught not to talk to strangers since the age of 4??? who the fack are these kids finding strangers online and agreeing to meet with them in person. I would honestly SMACK my kid, son or daughter if I caught them doing that.

I feel bad for those that get taken advantage off, some are just unfortunate situations... but sometimes people are just DUMB.

edit: The T.V. show should be cancelled....pedophiles should be caught and rehabilitated or at worst isolated , not videotaped and humiliated.

i agree. i think its a huge problem how long we 'baby' kids these days.

ppl need to learn to take responsibility for their actions sooner in life.

agreed...

instead of it always being someone else's fault or relying on the government to fix it like how people are taught these days.

See. And thats fucking brutal and a shame. Shit shouldnt be like that.

Things need to change. Responsibility and ownership of actions and consequences needs to be learned at a much younger age.

I think its ridiculous the way its gotten.

needs to change. no reason why at that age u coudlnt be responsible. it would be a very positive change for our society in general. we allow too much to be written off or discarded bc 'their only kids'

^^^ actually, I agree that a LOT of 15 year olds are PLENTY capable of acting mature and responsible. and I definately think they ought to partake in making decisions for themselves.

I am just saying, at that age, where rebellion, risk-taking, peer pressure, hormones, and "acting like nothing bad can happen" kinda attitude, I think there needs to be a happy medium in how much or how little we protect our teens.

btw: I want vivid to comment on this
