We spent the first half of the day with Mom, bbqing and eating an interesting spread(my moms a vegetarian who eats seafood so there was shrimp-kabobs and other things); ended up bringing home a crapload of meat and other items (you know how Moms are hehe ) so that was enjoyable.
decided last-minute to hit up the fireworks display. Parking was horrible; parked 15 blocks away from viewing area BUT had a great spot underneath the Manhattan Bridge (the park to the right of Tobacco Warehouse/Empire Fulton Park) - thanks to kelly and wai for securing a spot, intending to get a glimpse of the fireworks by 34th Street. I forgot that there are actually 2-3 different firework displays tho...when the fireworks started going off by the Brooklyn Bridge/Seaport, you bet everyone turned with the quickness and started walking/running toward them haha. so i guess for future reference we now know that TW is actually a great place in which to view fireworks. The display was enjoyable, although a tad lackluster cuz we watched it the year before at Gantry Plaza State Park in LIC - and it was only 30-45 min. But still, the company made it all the difference and it was FUN Drew got to practice with the camera using a tripod, taking some really AMAZING shots.
still wished it was a 3 day weekend tho cuz i am ASS tired now at work
hope everyone else had a GREAT, relaxing 4th!
