why do you keep saying i bash NYC?? lol and no i'm not a bad rep for the french i just happened to have lived here long enough to view things in a different light and talk about it, it would be the same if you had decided to live in france for certain amount of years you'll have your own opinions about it wether it be positive or negative. I've told you time and time again i love New York City, i don't have anything against this city.... and this country itself is amazing, but its the system i disagree on and everytime you post something that i feel is important or worth arguing about i just say how i feel. But like you said, your entitled to your views and i'm entitled to mine...

I am not going to take any sides here but there have been many cases of injustice in the news towards both sides. Even instances where the cops have used the shoot first and ask questions later tactic so it is not a surprise that the criminals of this world are looking at the cops with the outlook of shoot them first or die. This is what the world has come to....

and this argument can be used for the opposing side as well.

there's an easy solution to end it on the criminal side though....as jim carrey said, "stop breaking the law ass hole!"

werd i dont really get into politics
but i dont think those guys had the plan of "i think the cop will shoot me first cause iam a black man and sean bell 50 shot thing"
these guys have a wrap sheet the size of my arm
they knew they were in a stolen car
they chose to use violence to get out of a jam
and 9 out of 10 criminals who know they are about to go to jail
would probly do the same thing
its sad to see a young guy die
not only was he a good cop i heard he was a good person in his neihborhood so yea
its sad all around
let the judge and the jury do these guys in
no one else can hold the fate of these guys future at this point

so the people that die in a war are more important deaths than someone working to protect the streets at home?

give me an f-ing break. a tragic death is a tragic death.
it does not matter that there is other more horrible shyte happening in the world.
a 23 year old kid was shot in the face because he pulled over a car.
get off the god damn high horse of social self righteousness and have some compassion.

seriously people. belittling his death does nothing but make the world callous.
mourn the loss of this boy, mourn the loss of the soldiers.
and figure out an f-ing way to stop all the goddamn violence.

no,no lets not get things twisted here, i was saying why is this getting more attention then it should?? again this is tragic but the fact is that people die everyday in this country because there are many people that are poor why is this not getting any media attention? i just think that it was a bit blown out of proportion and don't talk to me about compassion, i know what it's like to loose someone close...i know this is a tragic event, but lets get real here when you take a job like this your bound to take risks.... it is what it is and people know what their getting into.

it's getting attention because regardless of how many senseless murders there are in the country. hearing about a 23 year old cop shot in the face is unthinkable/inexcusable. yes, i will admit that i will probably shed more tears for a 23 yo cop's murder over a 23 yo gang banger but it's still a death that did not need to happen.

In this day and age you are rare and lucky to not have lost someone close.

and yes when you take a job you know the risks....
kind of like, um... signing up to get a gun to go hunt bad guys?
or um... signing up to go defend country
as the old Marine slogan on my dad's shirt says "Join the Marines, go to exotic distant lands, meet new people... and kill them"
there may be an element of "get your head blown off by a grenade"

but just cause you know the risks doesn't mean that people shouldn't mourn the loss of life when a casualty happens. and this is a different sort of death. Yes there are alot of ways to die on the job in the line of fire. having a shootout at the OK Corral, you expect someone to get hit. But a random traffic stop = get shot in face?? There are so many bad implications and possible repercussions attached to that.

Yeah that freaks me out on so many levels.

i understand what you are saying but this issue is simple. A cops death is perceived as more tragic than other deaths because they are doing something to improve the quality of life of the ordinary person, and ordinary people see this on a daily basis. It's directly in front of our faces; catching murders, doing DUI checkpoints, investigating illegal gun sales, etc... The police get their hands dirty in so much shit the ordinary person wants no part of. In that respect they deserve the compassion they receive for things like this. And i do think that this death is more tragic than some random 23 yr old who was shot while hanging out on the block at 5am.
