is this sort of thing actually fairly common among big name dj's? definitely wouldnt surprise me, especially those big trance djs...

and do these djs even get 'caught'? lol how funny would that be going up to avb and saying "why havent you switched the cd in like 20 mins"? and he would be forced to come up with an excuse.... like what could he possibly say? plus if you were somehow close to the booth it would look prettty weird if only one cdj was playing...for the whole time! i think it would be hard to fake without at least some people noticing, depending on the location of the booth of course

a reason why i dont like djs using ableton, esp in a big club... just moving a mouse around, playing with a midi controller... very easy to cheat out and have a pre-set made

Last year when Junkie XL was at Guv he made no attempt to conceal the fact that he was playing a pre-recorded set; for instance, he was all over the stage singing the tracks and whatnot.

The guy in this vid is trying to make it look like he is actually doing something on the decks

yeah how does ableton work anyways? like how do u que up tracks? or does the program do a lot of it for you?

its always boring watching a dj spin with a laptop, when he doesnt actually use any cds.... cuz half the time hes just up there clicking away on the screen.... hopefully we dont see 90% of dj's doing this sorta thing in the near future.... cuz its boring!

Those videos look almost as ridiculous as the Iron Sheik Rant in Oshawa last week. Jeesus!

Is this the twit that claims Kraftwerk tried to rip off Blue Monday?

Am I the only one who felt like he was watching Ron Jeremy spin a set? That guy is a pig lol... Least charismatic "DJ" (and I use the term lightly) that I have ever seen...

On a sidenote: doesnt surprise me that JXL played a fake set... his set was so boring and unenthusiastic I had to leave the room - thank god it was only an hour.

Yeah last time Junkie was here in Detroit we called him out on it. Even got an email response concerning the issue from him. If you up for an interesting read check the thread out:

As far as the topic at hand that is a rather sad display. It honestly almost makes me sick to my stomach that he feels he can do that and get away with it. Its just sad that so many people are clueless and wouldn't know a difference anyways. Hopefully one of these days he will truley get called out (Hook)

I don't know how old some of you are, but some of you are sounding pretty young. Maybe it wouldn't hurt to read up a bit on Hooky.

But yeah, regarding the djing, what a wank move.
