Initially, I was being serious as its strange for Tiesto not to be here in the summer. |
It's a bit ironic that you would state this considering you're complaining consistently about the same DJ's coming back to Toronto over and over again.
Look at it from a marketing and clubbing perspective. If a DJ does well such as Armin, they will bring him back over and over again because they know he will draw a massive response. A lot of people were surprised when Menno came through because he was a 'new' DJ to the Toronto scene: well it's not really that surprising since he has David Lewis (who manages Armin) as his manager now. So put two and two together says he would be here soon, and voila.
As for Tiesto, what's so difficult to assume that he just decided to wait it out to make his return to Toronto more special? We all know he loves to play here and has a fantastic time, so with the extravagant tour that he's on right now (EOL) why not pass over Toronto for a while and swing back with a bigger and better show now that people have been waiting longer.
In my opinion, it's a much better marketing strategy than what other DJ's who are here every few months are doing, as he knows whenever he does return the crowds will come out in droves.
