Outgoing is also a six figure sum to the bank.
I run off and make a career out of some of those and the budget is not met, I have to liquidate assets and that is the simple reality. |
you talk about reality too much...reality doesnt mean anything its what you make it. It is your reality. I'm grounded to my reality every bit as much as you are to yours. My reality is probably a little more lucid or something though.
You talk about liquidating assets? what the fuck does that mean? objects? fuck those. The only objects I like are the ones that make sound and shit. Aside from that all you have to worry about is fulfilling the things that keep you alive. Why try to get a bunch more than that? I dont feel that greedy or anything, or like I have to show off.
Don't get me wrong you should do whatever makes you happy...but even the way you wrote that didnt make it sound too fun.
Do you feel that its really in you to be that financially orientated? Or do you think that the theory mentioned earlier in the thread, about how women who fear becoming dependant housewives feel the need to go in the extreme opposite direction...do you think that could be a factor?

These are remnants of our past. Luckily most of the western world sees men and women as equal now but subconsciously men are still seen as superior.
More men are prone and willing to take higher risks, plus endure emotional hardship better. We are after all still animals at heart, even though we've developed a high intelligence.
Even though things are getting more equal every day, I doubt that you will ever truely see men and women as completely equal in every aspect of life. It's just not natural for most people, regardless of if they put on a face and say otherwise. You can't control your instincts, nor can you change them. That also has nothing to do with some cultures still not recognising women as equal because that's a whole different story. |
hm yeah I guess to a large extent the risk taking factor could be what sets it apart.
Im no macho man, I'm a fucking pussy, but as far as finances and emotions and security go, I probably do take more risks than most girls...but thats just cuz if you don't take them youll want to kill yourself a week later.

For sure, realistically my negative attitude is just due to me being bitter about the sort of shit i see around here if I ever click on MD...and when djing is like such a (in my opinion unjustly) blown up thing, you feel a need to be a bit more extreme in your words and opinions about it.
also in real life i wouldnt give a dj shit or anything unless they were proper douches, they are just trying to play records and have a good time probably or whatever. I think all 3 of those dudes in that live video I posted will DJ occasionally. Its just not like the "meat".
I just dont think they should be treated like gods and shit. Yeah, they deserve respect for spreading the music...producers do need time to stay at home and work and djs can give them a chance to do that...but in my opinion djs have sort of almost hid the truth about electronic music from the public or something...so much of it can almost seem like deception sometimes.
I don't know if you know what I mean or not, but I've met people who have been going clubbing and shit for like a couple years, and actually think that dude up there like composing that shit with the 1200s and the mixers (and now with all the extra gear they have in the booth enphasizes this image).
Also theres of course the whole thing where they release records under their name that they didnt make.
EDIT: fuck yeah I totally forgot about the media. I forget what a giant roll it plays in peoples lives sometimes. I've also noticed the media doing things like purposefully making feminism and shit look stupid and unattractive even to girls, by focusing on the really stupid ass feminist movements, and the really irrational feminists.

I make my own reality, I don't believe in luck, fate or a happy feeling making something right.

Houses, flats, units. As well as being objects, they are also income. Less of them, less income for me.

Fun is a completely subjective activity.
(It's also crude and heavy handed to impose it on someone as a definition)

Has a lot to do with how I was raised and it also comes from an early realisation that I was the only one who was going to be in charge of my future. I also have a higher than average it seems predilection to take calculated chances, a very high threshold of fear and something of a paranoid and insular personality. Which means I'm not often very likeable as a human being but independent of others on a practical and emotional level.
Most people wander around without any definite direction in their lives following whims and perceived expectations which are outside the actual reality of the situation. Then upon arrival they find things aren't up to those expectations and bounce off to something else like a cue ball.
That's just my unprofessional, personal opinion, those of others may vary.

I agree with everything you said. It's funny, sometimes when I'm spinning people say "woah did you do that" or "nice" when I'm not even mixing or doing anything. Its tough trying to explain it to people too, because then they think you aren't really doing shit (which is only half true )
But putting two tracks together out of a huge collection of music that work perfectly is a great skill imo. And to do this continuously for 6+ hours is as well.
Collecting music is like a job too, if you're serious about it. Theres alot of good music out there that is extremely hard to find unless you really look, I'm sure you know that.
I also hate those DJs who wont tell you what track they're playing. If they didn't fucking make it, then it isn't their right. I'm always telling people the names of tracks they show interest in when I'm DJing.

yeah but you can live without making a lot of money...and then youre leaving more money for other people to live off of...and there are a lot of us who need to live.
I'm not into the whole making money consuming consuming thing...I think humans need to taper down on that. We can continue to evolve without that shit.
Fun is subjective, yes I knew this, but I asked you whether or not you find what you do fun. You did not answer.
