Hmmm.. Villalobos is one of the very few minimal producers that I actually find interesting, so this may be worth a gander. I'll try before I buy, though, instead of going at it blindly.

What don't you understand about what he said? He said that Ricardo, instead of just producing all the tracks he wants to mix himself, should have edited existing tracks and made them sound better like Holden did on Balance 005 as, in his opinion, that is what made Balance 005 as great as it is, the fact that you can find and play almost all the tracks on there, but the way James edited them, you really won't get the same feel as you would just listening to them on that compilation.

It seemed like a pretty clear statement to me.
