I can confirm that Cameleon (it's from Camel, so it's not spelled with the "H") actually does do this and does it well. You can tell it exactly how you want the "morph" to happen; just pick up to 4 sounds and set up an envelope along with an assload of other parameters. It isn't just a crossfade, it's really quite different.

Having said that - although it sounds really cool in theory, it's very hard to get a good sound out of in practice. Try it and see, though.

FM8 can do this too, but I think that the implementation in a synth is just morphing the actual paramaters rather than the actual audio itself... This software is supposed to do it to actual audio, so its more flexible.
Although that said I haven't actually listened to the samples, and I know from FM8 that its hard to get a good result, because the fade is so uneven, it'll be dominated completely by one sound for 99% of the way, and then suddenly change to the other really quickly...
