correct.

i just assigned it to fader #2 via the line input and it seems to be working like a charm. such a cool upgrade from my shitty macbook pro speakers, hehe.

Easy, inexpensive wireless solution: a small low power FM transmitter.

There's tons of them available commercially, look around. Many can be powered directly by the computer's USB port, while taking audio off the headphone jack, so it's a self-contained solution.

Example:
http://industrialcomponent.com/usbstuff/soundtran.html
(No, I haven't used this specific model, just the first relevant google search result... But shows what I'm talking about)

Then you'd use any sort of FM receiver connected to the Xone.

No latency, no silly 802.11 wireless BS.

It seems since 802.11 came out, everyone forgot about all the other wireless solutions

haha... i googled big knob + mackie... i just thought maybe he could explain to me in layman's terms why that would be a better solution for me than the airport express.

Childsih I know - but I couldn't resist.

Actually the big knob would not be useful in this situation - it provides a maser volume control and for selecting various output paths to different destinations (i.e. if you have more tha one monitor set up).

okay that's how i interpreted it as well. i'm happy with the airport setup for now (althoug the lag is a bit annoying, but not a huge deal really). it's just nice to give my mackies some more playing time!

I use old FM transmitter that i got on ebay to stream net radio all over my house and 2 blocks around my neighboorhood I just tune in to the frequency on my livingroom and bedroom radios and i got sound all over the house. Also, when i wash my car outside, i can tune car's radio to it also. Its much easier and more reliable than using WiFi to stream sound. Also, there is no delay. I had one of those cheap CD sender type FM transmitters, and the sound quality sucked, along with the frequency stability. The PLL circuit transmitters are much better and easier to tune.

Another day, my neighboor was washing his car outside, and had it's radio tuned to his favorite local FM station. I tuned my transmitter to that station's frequency and said over the air that this station is changing formats from hip-hop to dance. The guy was like WTF?
