No one is forcing you to do it, but why would any smart employer ignore an advantage that significant? Besides, the whole point is that spanish is supposedly becoming a significant part of american culture, at which point it stops being just "their" language.
I can only see good coming out of this. Another language would enrich the culture greatly. Besides, I've always thought native english speakers could benefit greatly from speaking more than one language (and I'm sure alot of people would agree with me on this), and what better way to do that than to be immersed within it's culture?
