all the things you guys have listed are NOTHING. irrelevant. there's going to be some dark days for trance in the future, and it's all about it going mainstream in America. I'm not talking about teeny shit like Alice Deejay and whatnot, there's going to be a day when PVD, Tiesto, Oakenfold and all the other anthem djs get played on mainstream radio, mtv, till it's a fullblown trend like Hip hop. it's slowly happening, there really should be a concious effort to prevent this from happening, but the more concious you make your effort, the more mainstream it'll go. heh. |
well and then you will eventually get the clubs that play 'top-40' trance and the clubs that play 'underground' with all the underground people thinking they are better, since they liked trance for longer...
I am not excluding myself! I think of myself better than all the sandstorm and rapture fans out there, but honestly, i must admit that i did like Rapture and i used to like sandstorm, then they got overplayed, end of story...
I do not think that trance/ techno etc. will ever go mainstream. I do not believe that many people will like it. There will me more 'mainstream' trance, but in the end, i do not think it will be as big as hip-hop, just for the fact that trance does not appeal to a large enough socio-economic group in the US. Please consider, that one might think of trance as a more 'high class' music, due to the fact that it did not 'come out of the street' like hip-hop did...
