I suppose the creative process is different for everyone. For me, at least, hatred or anger is often a catalyst for rethinking things/creation/innovation/action.

I mean even take a look at shape/sounds of the musical evolution and how they are ANTI the characterists of previous genre.

For example:

TRANCE: massive melody synths, over the top woman vocals, huge breakdowns

PROG: no melody at all (at least in the beginning, think Digweed on Global Underground L.A), no vocals at all and if some they would be dark/twisted male type drugged out vocals, and no breakdowns ever.

haha who remembers the term BSPF?
