basically it comes from the mid 1800s US, when there was a period of extended Asian migration to the American West. the large influx of Asian men to work in farms and mines, etc. led to the desexualization(or some would argue homosexualization of the asian male). for awhile they were viewed as non sexual or threatening to other males since there were so many in one place(they often had to share accomodations b/c they were sending their earnings home). and as some Korean women were used as prostitutes by Japan back in the day, the same occurred here, since asian men were seen as threatening to white women, young girls were brough over to 'satisfy' their desires. Western brothels often had a large number of asian women- which is prolly the beginning of this whole thing.
these asian prostitutes began the whole feminine asian thing. soon all asians who emigrated were seen as overly feminine, or at least more so than caucasian women. of course, this is really simple, and im only using like .05% of my brain right now since its technically summer for me. but we stil see evidence of the stereotyped asian girl thru asian reporters who are ALWAYS women. ok my brain isnt working, ima stop. hope that makes some semblance of sense/
