Some of the people around here are stupid. If your new, why don't you listen to the people who have been around longer than you and take their advice before you make yourselves look more stupid.

Vengeance is sampled. This is not a problem per se, but leads to low quality because reverb tails get cut off. That IS a problem. Sampling is great, sometimes even when its dodgy, but you shouldn't rely on other people to do it for you. At any rate, when your building up loops of your own, you want to do it with high quality sounds, this is NOT vengeance.

@ derail and the other people who think they know better: vengeance is ripped, I imagine its also cleared. Thats why they're not sued.

You're right, I didn't think of the fact that they'd cleared/ paid for the samples. That makes sense to me. If they'd just ripped them without permission it wouldn't make any sense to me at all. I wish someone had pointed out that distinction earlier!

It's still up to the individual producer to make use of these samples how they see fit. If you look on Vengeance's "customer testimonials" page for the clubsounds collections, there are some very big name producers who claim they use the samples. I'd be surprised if the samples weren't used throughout many current top trance tunes.

I'll have to listen to those reverb tails some more. Depending on the situation, it may well be a problem. It may well be not.

There are alot of original samples on there too guys. Some may of originated from other tracks but they have been processed and crossfaded/layered with other kicks to the point that they are original, and when I say layered that doesn't mean he ploped a few bassdrums on top of eachother and saved it as a new one, alot more goes in to it than that. And believe me, Manuel did not invent the idea of sampling kicks from the begining of tracks. I believe Lvee AKA Airwave said on trance.nu that he samples the kick off the beginning of every new vinyl he gets. I also personally know from talking to manuel on vengeance forums via pm he makes his own 808ish kicks/bass tail in wavelab and crossfades them with sampled kicks where he couldn't get the full kick without other elements cutting into it. Also many of the 'trancey' kicks and other samples originate from the old Uberschall sample cds and are heavily processed to something practically unreconizable from the orignal

I shouldn't?

Wait, I rely on whatever I feel like relying on at any given moment when making a track!
