Islam needs to become more watered down and less authoritarian like most of Christianity has.* It needs to become less attached to taking "sacred texts" literally. That's all there is to it, really.

Freedom of information, the big flood unleashed by the Internet and globalization, will see to that eventually. The fools can't keep their fingers in the dikes forever.

People will learn and then they will doubt.

* Not to deny the existence of moderate Muslims and extremist Christians, of course.
