... Believe in yourselves ... Impossible is nothing ...
Provocative dude, so happy that you've taken the decision to quit and I praise your fearlessness in facing your dark side. Unfortunately a lot of times people don attend to quit because they're afraid they might fail in achieving the goal. But you are fearless and that shows you're smart
As a matter of fact I was gonna post a thread about Quitting Nicotine but due to procrastination ( ) and some unexpected issues I postponed it.
I'm proud to announce that it's been 3 weeks now that I've succeed to quit smoking after 6 years. It's been done with absolutely no help(cold turkey?, everyday I learn a new word/slang). I used to be a semi-heavy smoker, smokin two-third a pack a day. If 2 months ago you asked me my opinion in this matter I'd say "It's tough man, this shit is extreme". Honestly I never thought I'd quit cigarettes as easy and as early as I have done. I'd never believe that I could quit cigarettes without even deciding to do so! I basically didn't smoke for 2 days then after I saw how easy and beneficial it is so I decided to quit it forever.
The secret is to believe and have faith in life. Believing is a key factor for having a strong willing power ... When one believes in a reason to live and finds faith in their beliefs then they attend to take out any obstacles from their way in order to live longer and happier, hence they become healthier and stronger by the day from inside. If the above is reached and one can define life in anyway from their inner self then in aftermath success is inevitable and words such "Failure" and "Impossible" just become some dryed ink in dictionaries.
In my case, after completely putting aside drugs (coke/X/weed) over time I got my confidence back and redefined my life values (which took about 6 months). After realizing how beneficial and exciting a healthy life style is, I gradually cut down my smoking habits, this all happened spontaneously, then I started to go running every night in order to take my healthiness to another level. The healthier I got the more I got away from cigarettes and finally eliminated it from my lifestyle without any side effects and hassles! My memory and brain skills even improved and I can concentrate more that ever.
The first week is a little tricky but one should always stick to their plan and always tell themselves why they’re quitting. I tell myself “I’m quitting to - maintain healthiness
- Become stronger so I can reach my goals
- feel better and stronger sexually
- save my lungs
- save money
and most importantly
By repeating the above with faith, putting smoking aside is just a matter of time. I did it, so can anybody else.
Good luck
