1. Select and analyze the track.
2. Hit the warp button.
3. Zoom in and line up the yellow/green warp marker with 1st beat.
4. Zoom in at the end of the track and make sure those markers are lined up, but don't make anymore yellow warp markers.
Then you're done. Takes about as long as your computer does to analyze the file.
Oh and make sure you set the global quantize to at least 1/4 bar. That way the songs will automatically be lined up on quarter notes. |
I always do the first, then another one fairly early on, just to make sure that it's actually the right number of bars. it's usually easy to tell where the first is, but unless you know the bpm already, you can't tell which # the last one should actually be. for example, you might put the last one on 245, when it should be on 244. You now have a completely fucked-up clip. Just do one somewhat early on, so it's at least in the general vicinity. It's fair to assume that most stuff is at least close to if not right on a whole number for the bpm (unless you're using vinyl rips or other shit you didn't pay for), so if you start with, say, the 33rd bar, & aren't sure where the first actually is, due to a lack of distinct indicators in the mapping, you can usually drag it back & forth (zoomed way in) until you get it right on the number, from the later marker.
