I enjoyed DJ Armando. I liked his track selection. A good mix of old and new. Never heard a techno remix of Toto - Africa haha. It was good. I think he also played Annie Lenox - Sweet Dreams. Another classic. I would go see him again if he was playing somewhere near. Is he from around DC? |
Armando happens to be a very close friend of mine, glad to hear you liked him. He's actually the music director for XM's BPM (the dance channel), he lives real close by due to working at XM's headquarters in DC. He's getting more and more gigs in and around DC lately, and he does two one hour mix shows every weekday on BPM (6PM, 9PM). His style varies a lot, because he does have two one-hour live mixshows to do every day, and playing the same trancey tracks over and over again would get tiresome for the listeners (and him, too). This was basically the biggest thing he's done so far, being an opening act for Tiesto. My fear was the crowd, who was there mainly for Tiesto style dutch trance, wouldn't be all that into his style, but from the reactions I saw from everybody it seemed to go over well.
