a gillette fusion razor is $20 after tax in montreal, in the usa its $9. in usa we have no roaming or long distance on cell phones, it is all the same as calling next door. up here my girlfriend has to get a calling card to call newfoundland from montreal. Not to mention the taxes you guys pay on your wages.

yes the usa has many foreign policy problems, but when it comes to stuff here in the usa itself, things are always very nice. i like having a choice for health care and education and keeping my money for me, rather than fund social programs. that is how i have been able to bring all these fine artists to montreal

the cell phone thing sort of getting better now, but not really. i think now if you are with rogers you can call anyone with a rogers mobile number or home number, anywhere in canada and its like a local call, but not sure about that.

i knew about NH with 0% bastards! Hawaii it is like 4.8%.

HAHAHAHA taxes on income here is pretty which I do not mind, pretty much free education and meds. Just wish all the doctors in Quebec would stop running out of this province though

I agree on most of what you say, but I also feel that the best health care system is a public one (Canada's isn't perfect but still) and that education at US prices is simply a ripoff.

Oh yah the cost of going to school in the US holy jesus I a couple years back I was looking into a school in NYC for fashion design. This is when our dollar was worthless pretty much. It was about $60k CDN a year. Now with the current rate of exchange $32k CDN. I think that how much it is for US citizens. Probably is way more for International people.

US doesn't take care of low incomers.. in the end it comes back to bite everyone's ass. Their solution is to have those peeps join the arm forces. Michael Moore, ftw

you are right because your perspective is the one of a young healthy person.

Is it really unheard of people selling or remortgaging their houses (which they paid for their whole life) to pay for expensive chirurgical bills once they're no longer young and healthy?

edit: which cancels out the savings of a whole life or most probably any benefits from low taxation went on buying crap now sitting in that huge garage in that huge house.

Tag should be able to articulate this since that's his field of study.. I'll take a stab here: if our commodities aren't selling, that hurts our industries and of course the trickle down effect is layoffs and such, hurting local economies in the process.

Case in point: Americans don't want to buy our products because the exchange rate isn't favourable anymore. It now costs more to buy Canadian products than before.. so in tying this discussion into edm, we may see less American trollops at Bal en Blanc
