Exactly. Bioshock, to me anyway, isn't designed for the average FPS fan who just wants to jump in and "run & gun" as it were.
And I also don't understand how the fighting was "tedious" - I found the combat anything but repetitive, and finding new ways to progress through areas was a ton of fun.
I haven't seen the level of depth and freedom to play how you want to that's in Bioshock since games like Fallout. |
fallout?
ok i was ready to play again with an open mind but that makes me expect a lot
yeah i probably just didn't get far enough, idk
and for the record, the one really really tedious part involved me facing a big daddy, needing to kill it, and having not much of anything at my disposal, turrets were dead and everything, no money, only like 1 healthpack and not much ammo so i just reverted to fps mode and found a glitch in the ai. found a place where if i stood on a box the dude would run to the far side of the room, and up the ramp to the dock area then towards me. then, when i jump off the box, he rus back to the far side and down the ramp
so i'd jump on the box, wait till he got close-ish and fire a few shots, then jump down, wait till he got far away, reload, and do it again
:/
