If people don't make time for it, then it mustn't be all that important to them. Or am I in a minority with this line of thinking?

No, you're not. People who simply don't care that much is the last thing music needs.

I think that's a slight misunderstanding.

If I enjoy reading 100+ different blogs, do I have to go to 100 different sites to read them each day? I guess I could, but wouldn't that consume much more time than to have a news aggregator pull all that information down into one place for me? The same can be applied with media shows. Sure, I can manually pull down all the shows I like to watch and listen to. But why not make it easier and save myself some time so I can watch/listen without wasting extra time using old and conventional (static) methods?

There are many things in my digital life that are important to me. Just because I automate the process of collecting that data doesn't mean I'm not interested.

Ninja edit: Now that I re-read, if you mean not making time by listening to an abbreviated version of ASOT, then sure, I agree. I'm not even sure if I will subscribe to this feed. Probably not, since I rarely listen to that show anymore, but I thought I'd share the info for those who weren't aware.

Should be interesting just to listen to what they consider as "highlights" of the show...

I certainly understand the point that skizzell is trying to make, however I still do not believe in the concept of a "podcast." While I think it's fine and dandy that you can integrate your music downloading with an RSS feed, why not just call it an RSS feed? You don't need to use a fancy buzzword to go and make it cool, just like how people think that an iPod is not an MP3 player, when in fact that is all that it is.

That's what I don't like about the Apple marketing machine. They create some fancy word for something that has already existed for a lengthy period of time and make it look as though they're doing something innovating and exciting. It's bullshit.
