sheesh - all ill im trying to do is spread the word of how us poor people can still make great music - ill shut my mouth in future, the less i say - the less competition therell be i suppose.

if you want a selfish ass, i can be one. Screw all of you, hope you have to sell youre house just cause youre music hobby hgot out of hand.

and to the bloke who made the song - keep it up pal, but id seriously suggest BUYING cubase 4 for £379 or pro logic for a bargain of £573. onm top of that youll need VSTs as well, for trance VANGUARD is great, aswell as NEXUS ($89.99 and $299.99)... there are some free LEGAL vsts out there such as 'crystal' - and if you buy a soundcard, such as a EMU 0404 - it comes with Cakewalk lite, and Cubase SL (or something) - it hardly does anything, but youll have the basics. Oh yeah, and Fruityloops 7 with all upgrades and cool VSTs, and extras is $2043.....

happy buying

but seriously, good start - and enjoy the learning curve, making music is great fun - and remember, my email address is above for any 'guidance' on acquiring software - (that will please the lawyers i think)

quick note - i really hope you bought youre copy of fruityloops, or everyone on this site will THINK YOURE EVIL THIEVING SCUM (except me pal, cause i live in the real world)

kind of an odd question you ask (no offence) cause making electronic music is about what software you use - and i can honestly say in my humble opinion that tiesto doesnt use fruityloops - and never will.....

stay away man - stay away

fl crap? i think the program has nothing to do with your music, it depends on the producer.
heatbeat, ozgur can, dynamicmotion, van lazarux, are just some high quality producers that use FL.
fl its not crap!

In the real world software developers who create the software that is commonly pirated deserve the damn biggest paycheck they can possibly get. You tell the guy sitting in a cubicle writing code for the next version of FL Studio that you don't give a flying one. I'm no saint on the subject, but your justification is appalling. Snoop Dogg says no. Just look at him shaking his head.

Poor and want to make great music? Grab Reaper and search KVR audio.

Anyway, I'm sorry to 'From Above' for all of this. You've got a lot of work ahead of you, but I think you've got the main hurdle of understanding what's going on taken care of. I do hope you'll continue your productions and do all that you can to better each attempt, because it's worth it. Try some remixes or manipulations of samples. Try to duplicate a pro track, a simple one, and ask yourself as you go along "why doesn't mine sound like that?" and make changes accordingly. Don't be afraid of reverb and delay to wet and fill out things. Also, try out some filesharing websites that you see other's in the producer's promotion forum using. That way we can all get a higher quality stereo mp3 of what you've created. (Youtube is a fine idea since it can be embedded... anyone know of an audio-oriented similar website?)

awesome! i look forward to hearing your work. it's not that i feel a loyalty towards FL...rather, it's the fact that for many years people have bad-mouthed the software without actual audio proof of it being inferior!

i think because FL is an easily accessible piece of gear, many novice producers churn out their first tracks using the program, and as we all know, our first tracks usually arnt all that stunning! And it is this that has given FL it's reputation, among the unaware, of sounding like shit.

As the software producer gains knowledge of other DAWS, he/she may move away from FL, believing it to be limiting, and this is where the 'fooling' begins. You may think your sound has improved because you've moved onto a new platform, but that's just a lie to yourself. What it really is, is you getting better at music production in general.

So you can see that if you have moved on to a new application, and you feel that your skills have improved -- which they should natuarlly, because with practice comes improvment -- then of course you are going to feel the previous software you used was holding you back; but as i stated above, you're only fooling yourself.

anyway, enough of me ranting, back to reality for me!!

hey, maybe youre right - i partially agree with that, but i do think that people get trapped in FL due to the way it works, its quite unique in the way it works - and it has its benefits, but on the whole it takes a while to get youre head around the standard sequencer layouts that you get in cubase etc.... due to FLs influence.

id advice new people to skip FL completely and move straight into the more serious peices of software.
