With the iPhone you cannot download songs/videos directly on to your handset. Customers will need to download content to their PC first and then transfer to the phone, like the iPod. Customers also need to install iTunes and pay $0.99 per song.
iPhone doesn't work with corporate push email, only Exchange Pull emails. Also, iPhone does not support ActiveSync.
iPhone does not support editing of Microsoft Office applications. Corporate customers will only be able to view PowerPoint and Excel documents
Clients will need to ship their iPhones to Apple even for a simple battery change. Leaving clients without their iPhone for possibly weeks.
The iPhone does not allow you to record videos.
Due to the touch screen typing, sending SMS messages is cumbersome as clients have to see what they are touching.
iPhone does not support voice activated dialling.
With the iPhone clients can't easily transfer contacts from existing phone (regular SIM card doesn't work)
iPhone lacks Instant messaging application like Yahoo messenger or MSN messenger; Google Maps usefulness is restricted due to lack of GPS; there are no games loaded on the phone
Personally i have a HTC P4000 is a awesome phone! |
Yep, you are pretty much spot on, except for the transfer contacts bit. It will sync your contacts out of Outlook, therefore if your existing phone can export contacts out into Outlook or some form of data sheet, the process is really quite simple.
You see, Apple is so on the ball that clearly it intentionally left out many standard cell phone features out. I mean, they are essentially skimming the market. Give it 8 months and you'll see iphone 2 come out with many of the features you've described above built in.
