Came at 12 and the dj was horrendous. His was an omfg noob. Played pussy pussy trance, and was making me feel like going home every 3 minutes. The funniest moment was when he was dropping some new pvd vocal track which is like so gay omg, like ubercheese and was rocking to that and making it seem like it was so sick lol. I was like yo man youre pathetic. And then the crowd sucked balls too. it was meganoob-kids and "noob-nerds".(Noob nerds were standing on the sides like theyre too cool to dance and look so omfg serious, like they were analyzing the beats and the mixing and shit. It was very funny when the guy played that cheese pvd track and they were nodding their heads like "yea this is proper shit"). Endgame was better and his beats were decent, were some decent songs, others didnt fit the set, overall was too mainstream, nothing uber.

Overall this party was a joke.
NEXT electronica: No thanks

Note to poster : No PVD was played.

I appriciate your feedback though. It's always nice to hear well worded criticism.

And because you thought it was so pussy, i figure i'll drop a TL for you, perhaps you can laugh at the tracks a little more in your spare time.

Besides, Everyone needs a hobby .

David West - Make U Mine (Vocal Mix)
Gareth Emery & Rue De Gar - Soul Symbol (original mix)
Inxs - Afterglow ( Randy Boyer & Eric tadla remix)
Oceanlab - Clear Blue Water ( Ferry Corsten Remix) <-- Likely the track you thought was too pussy and so gay).
ID-ID ( I believe it was Stoneface & Terminal, but i can't remember which tune)
Tranqulity Base - Oceanic ( Super8&Tab remix)
Lawrence Palmer - Streamline ( Giuseppe Ottaviani Remix)
Vincent De Moor - Fly Away ( Sean Tyas remix)
Bart Claessen - When The Morning Comes
Oliver Smith - Tomahawk.

Do you even go to this school? I ask because you seem to have the writing ability of a 13 year old girl. They do not actually cater to 13 year old girls. I am sure they will make a note of that on the next flyer.

Or maybe EMSAY attracts people who don't know a lot about EDM? Not everyone at York is "OMFG UBER CLUBBER YAH" and I imagine a lot of the people who come out are experiencing EDM in a club for the first time. It's important to remember everyone experiences EDM in different ways. These days I better appreciate EDM through chilling and listening - even the high energy stuff - and I was one of those people standing back and "analyzing the beats and the mixing and shit" (although Endgame definitely got me). For someone who really hates people being "omfg serious" you should take a time out to get your own panties out of a twist.

I say good riddance. I personally believe dance music has no room for people with attitudes like yours. If you want to go home, then just go home; you are taking up space on the dance floor for people who are enjoying themselves.

ok butit sounded like pvd and it was b4 ferry corsten. One of the first ones. Maybe David West, not sure. But it was like omg ghey!

wow man your tracklist is so underground I havent heard of any of those artifts. Tiefto rockf yo!

But seriously just look again at your tracks and tell me that they are not mainstream and noobish. I understand that you like your tracks and you can tell me now that I am retarded but in couple years from now youll be like wow how could i like that. Dont get mad If you think my words were offending, cause theyre not aimed to make you feel like shit or anything. I just really didnt like the beats you played and the fact that you were rocking out to that was funny to me.

quote:
"OMFG UBER CLUBBER YAH"

Nono I didnt mean that, youre interpreting my words wrong. Obviously I did not expect to see super underground people, but "kids with braces" that came to their first party and went home at 1am to sleep are definately not the right type of crowd.

I dont think you got me right here too, so Ill explain. I was talking about how these "serious" trance-nerds were nodding when dj robben i think was dropping some of his tunes. This was funny to me because all of these tracks were very noobish. Like the kind of stuff that a regular armin fan who thinks he is an uber edm fan and has little understanding of music beyond trance and still lives in 1999 would like. And these people were like yea this is good shit, nodding, cheering and stuff. I mean the whole idea of people who think they are so cool and smart and "underground" and make jokes about danny d and at the same time like the music like dj robben was playing is funny. U can argue that smart and underground people can like trance but that is RARELY the case. I hope you understand what I meant now.

sorry but I didnt notice a shortage of space on the dancefloor.

that means there were probably a number of 1st year students
honestly, just be grateful that there are events like that happening finally!

You keep rehasing that " none of the clubgoers were underground".

Yea, excactly. In that case, why would i start playing tunes that NO ONE that would possibly attend would know? The whole point of parties like this, is to try and bring people who are possibly on the fringe of EDM, to try and get them more into it. So by playing tracks that some of them will know, will only help the fact that they can actually dance along to a tune they're farmiliar with.

Again, there is nothing incredibly wrong with playing a TL like that, especically when i was booked to play " Epic " trance.

The only thing that offended me that you said, was " Yo, you're pathetic". Hmm, sorry to try and push an argument here, but how is someone not to be offended by such a comment? I was booked, for free might i add, and i came to that gig, and gave the best performance possible with the time and music placement i was alotted. You can say i was a noob or what not for " rocking out" to " Pussy Tunes". I enjoyed them, the majority of the people their enjoyed it.

Also, technically i was on my game, so i dont' see how Noob i could possibly have been...

Again, not trying to start an argument. Just perhaps next time realize, that DJ's are just people, who entertain for the sheer sake and love for the Music they play.

Cheers, and hopefully if you decide to come out agian, you might have a better time.

-Mike Ballantyne.

Don't they teach you proper writing skills in your big fancy business school? Or just how to be a fucking jack-ass?

Vanos;

why don't you take that arrogant attitude and gorgeous grammar of yours and go write a business plan or do cost analysis projection or whatever you guys do, and quit bashing EMSAY. Let the rest of us enjoy the music. Maybe I'll have more respect for your comments if you manage to plan and pull off a better night than the one you're putting down.

Until then, eat it.

you know, vanos does have a right to write a negative review if he feels like it, even if he wrote it like a 5 yr old on a temper tandrum.

he didn't like the tunes. so be it. he's just one person among many

I agree. If you don't like the music, you're entitled to say so.

But that is much different from insulting the DJs, the crowd, and the people that made it happen. That's just disrespectful, and it doesn't accomplish anything except for building walls.

You can still write a negative review without being a douche. Constructive criticism is always welcomed, but not in the form of a preteenage girl text message essay.
