I'm going to my first WMC this year, and I desperately need some advice on the week.

Flights are no problem, but what is the best/cheapest way of going about hotels? Are there usually houses to rent that are cheaper if you have a big party going?

I'm sure there will be an official thread starting soon, but I just wanted to get an early jump on this.

couple of people i know are renting condos.. if your interested in that ill ask them & get back to you with the info

haha speaking of that.

2005 TOTA's rented a MANSION... It was massive and like 18 of them. Omygoodness. That was prob better than some of the parties I went to.

Hotels go fast.. Extremely fast. Make sure you are in a good location because unlike New York.. Miami has got the WORST public transportation.

yups...i remember spending $150 on taxis alone during my 4 day stay there and i stayed around 1550 Collins (if i remember correctly). Good location since most of the parties during the week was around the area as well as shops and eateries (CROBAR, MANSION, Macarena Lounge and others). I only went to SPACE twice during that time so it made sense to me to book on the Strip.

Downtown is optimal if you plan on going to SPACE, other downtown clubs, and ULTRA most of the time . I think many TAs were booked at the Shelbourne at the time lolz.

not sure if i would recommend renting a car during WMC, only because traffic is as SLOW as MOLASSESSSS on the strip, theres just SO MUCH TRAFFIC!!!! u could totally WALK faster.

make sure to budget about a G for a full week, but im sure everyones got that in check. lol

it was the party hotel.

Did u go to that TA Dinner that year??? I know I met you a few months after at Space.. that was a crazy mess. But hella fun!

nah i arrived Thursday (it was all we could afford in terms of vacation time), and it was party party party as soon as we got off the taxi onto collins. I heard all about it though!! ^__^

yeah it was certainly odd to go to Miami and SPACE later that June, so soon after that WMC...the area was soo quiet compared to WMC/March, but still VERY VERY cool. Meeting you and the other FLTAs for the very first time was def the highlight of my trip, thanks to Amy for being a superb guide and host, not to mention hearing Edgar V and Ferry bang it out all night def a weekend to remember...

I know I said last year I wasn't gonna go and ended up going anyways...but this year I think I'm for real skipping out......I did my time (4 years in a row.) Maybe I'll fly in for Sander on the terrace which always seems to be the best party of the year and it's better every year...but that's about it. Got too many trips planned next year.....France, Vegas, San Lucas, Belize.....
