I think that you might not get the comedy because you are not an American. While he may seem like he is just talking about the differences between white and black people, what he is actually doing is making fun of our society. The funny thing about Dave Chapell is that he makes fun of things that are at least partially true and raises awareness at the same time.

While he is no saint, he doe at least make people through his humor...

I did think that myself, but then again 95% of Australians are very well versed with American culture, as that's mostly where our television is sourced from.

Some of my friends think Chapelle is hilarious, and used to constantly go on with the whole "I'm Rick James, bitch" shit a few years ago.

As for me watching his show - I didn't think that was funny either. I saw a skit which was a parody of Wife Swap, didn't enjoy it at all.

that wasn't a parody, that actually aired long before wife swap debuted
