There's nothing wrong with using software with some automation to help your mixing (like beatmatching for you) provided that it takes care of the non-critical details in order for you to have more time to concentrate on what's really important - the creativity of the whole thing, which includes which tracks you play, in what sequence, what effects you use, etc. This is the part that makes DJ's. Of course it's not easy to be a good DJ - it takes a lot of practice, knowing your music, and that spontaneous creativity that programs cannot reproduce (yet?). So ask yourself why you wanna be a DJ - if it's mainly because you think it would be a cool thing, then maybe you should find another hobby. But if you really love the music and love playing it for people then use that as your motivation and just keep practicing, no matter how difficult it may seem at times. And never leave the creativity out of it.

Also, for now I recommend listening to as many DJ sets as you can. Pay attention to how they progress from track to track, timing and mixing techniques, use of effects, etc. After a while you'll get a pretty good feel for the basics and can then start being more creative and experimenting on your own.

IF you cant figure out what song to play next you probably shoulden't be a DJ. You can't just play something thats going to ruin the flow of the scene you need set out the order of your songs before you start mixing and then make subtle changes based on peoples reactions. You have to do it yourself a program isn't going to do if your for you and if it did whats the point in being a dj then. Think.
