I wouldn't worry about something like that happening in any of the Montreal afterhours or massives, the weapon and drug checks that they have there they could find any weapon you have)
lmao think again it has happened at Aria on several occasions someone getting shot inside. I remember one night being locked inside Aria until 10am waiting for the police to try and find the dude.
At least at events they do pretty good checks. Just wish they have full scale metal detectors and x-ray machines to check every bag and shoes (events and clubs). I guess if they did that, they would lose business.

So your gonna place your assumptions on something that happened at a club like 3 years ago... Dude the chances of a fucking brick falling on your head right now are probably about 10 times higher then you getting shot at ones of those things in Montreal

Aria been closed for a while now or should have re-opened under a different name by now.
I like more security then barely any. I am cautious person.

Yep, thats exactly my point, there is so much security nowadays in Canada that chances of a gun slipping by are only possible if the security does something stupid and nobody in the right mind would go there with a gun "hoping" that the security won't notice that 2 pound metal thing in your back pocket.

you guys clearly have never seen a bouncer check someone and find a gun then the manager happens to be at the door and tells the bouncer "hes ok"
the things club ownwers will do for money

By letting a gun go through into an afterhours for example the manager is risking a shooting..

I think you place way too much confidence in the security here , or maybe you just don't know how it works in real life.
First of all , some security are put in that position because of who they know , and there is nothing stopping a person being let in with weapons ,etc because they have it pre-arranged with the security that searched him.
For example Black and Blue and Sundance music festival were two of the biggest raves in montreal had ZERO metal detection , so all they need is to have an arrangement with one of the security and boom...inside the weapons go....
Second , Do you want to know how many times people walk around the metal detector at certain clubs? I have first hand experience with this at 2 MAJOR after hours in montreal....
Third , most of the shootings you hear about in clubs or events in montreal happened because security never even saw the guys come in... they had one of the fire exits opened by someone on the inside and they gunmen rush inside from a fire exit...this happens all the time...
So to say that you shouldn't worry is the biggest oversight I can imagine someone saying about montreal....you obviously don't know the city....

See those people that take the fire exit, I am sure the people that got shot weren't randomly shot, it was most likely a planned assasination. So if you worry about getting randomly shot @ a Club then you need to start slapping yourself right about now... cause reality is, this is life and shit happens, just like a car could hit you right there, or a brick falling on your face there...
Stop worrying and live your life please
Just my 2 cents.

100% : I agree.
For the people that knows me well and were at my Vicious nights back in da days, it was clearly a similar situation that closed my nights for good.
Since I've been in the nightlife (13 years working) I saw 4 gunshots, 15 stabbings and a lot of violent attacks... some of the security guys make this shit happen but some of them are trying to make it go away but the police won't help so it's a tough situation...
Bar owners need to stop exceptions too!!!
I went to Circus last saturday and they took my pen???? Can I kill someone with it? They even took my headband last week when I was dress has a pirat...are they going to far?
Not easy

I agree , however we aren't talking about professional hitmen because real professionals don't shoot someone inside a club with a huge crowd watching them trying to escape.
In almost every case it's done by some lowlife gang member who is trying to send a message and in most cases doesn't know how to shoot straight anyway.
This means that random shooting DOES happen. Such as the case a few months ago at red-lite in the hip hop room , the shooting resulted in two girls being hit by stray bullets ( one in the leg and the other grazed her arm ) that missed the target.
So the target was never actually shot and innocent people who had nothing to do with it were victims.
So as much as I don't want people to worry about being caught in any crossfire , the reality is that even when the shooting is done on a target people can still get hurt when they had nothing to do with it.

Dude, you have a point about people that plan it, but man what if you were beside or near the person getting shot, and it hit you...or your friend
Let's consider us realllly lucky that nothing major hasn't happen in while, but don't go into a club and be all naive cause like people said security is a joke, and even a "planned asasination" can go wrong a an innocent individual(s) can be the target

Circus are the absolute biggest offenders of the "anal security with attitude" practice...
These guys are complete jerk-offs .... they won't even let you in with a single piece of hard candy...like the ones they give you at a resturant when you pay your bill.
Even if it's sealed up in the original package , like what are we really trying to achieve here anyway?
I can see headbands because it's potential as a gang symbol , but a pen or sealed up gum is just ridiculous.... this isn't CIA headquarters or the white house people! It's a F!#$ing after hours where almost everyone is high or drunk in the first place!!!
I can't understand that , they are more strict then Bal en Blanc for god's sake!!!
