If this isn't as much as the CDJ 800 MK2s, I may think about selling my CDJ 200s for these babies next year. Don't mix much, but this looks cool. I just need a new laptop so I can make use of the MIDI...I might not get that till next summer.

It seems like it will only be released in Europe in December/January, so it might not be till later next year (possibly next Summer) that this will be released in the States. Definitely something I would like better than the CDJ 200s. They are nice, but I certainly prefer the feel of the CDJ 800/1000's jog dial... I just didn't need the scratching ability, but for pitching bending it's nice....

Some sites are saying that this will retail from €450-550. My question is what do CDJ-200s retail for, and what do CDJ-800s retail for... that way I can somewhat price it up against the prices in the US

Did I read correctly - does this thing have the magical quantized loop function built in, like a c-loops/redsound?! If so, that's a selling point just in itself.

Whichever goon at pioneer came up with the removable faceplate idea is clever - that's a cool gimmick.

I'm bettting that the jog dial will be just as useless as the 200's is.

Also, if this thing can actually work mp3 files properly (the mp3 "support" on the 200 is garbage), it will also be a major selling point.

Yeah sounds like it. The CDJ-800 has always had the beat-loops, though they have never been quite perfect.

The jog has "vinyl" mode, so that's a big plus.

I never understood why mp3 support would be a selling point. No interfaces so far have been good enough to actually get an overview over a large amount of files on a CD. So how anyone can burn much more than ~10 tracks per CD is a mystery to me.

Not to mention the fact you end up with CD's that you can't rely on to play out at a club. Not everywhere has brand new CDJ's.

The tie in with a DVS is great though.

Wow this looks like an awesome deck. Maybe a little small though, but still... btw are CDJ-800MK2's really > $800 ??? I bought mine when it came out for ~$600.

The interface is easy - you burn everything into folders (by artist usually), and then you can scroll through individual folders, and once you find the folder you want, then you can scroll through the ten or so tracks you may have in there.

It's not really that different to loading a CD really - it's just like having twenty CD's pre-loaded.

The problem I have with mp3 support is that it is painfully slow and still has a lot of bugs (on the 200 anyway).

What would be your guys recommendation for which cdj to get?.

depends on what you wanna do with your cdjs? if you plan on just mixing.. 200s should be fine, 400s do sure look cool though.. me perosnally i would wait, i am waiting now maybe ill get a job or something and sell my 100s and buy a 400, or maybe sell my 100s and my 200 and buy 2 400s
