I would have asked him why he felt it was necessary to flog Anthem on his show as much as he did over the summer

Every time I read your posts, you're always jumping at the opportunity to badmouth him, lest we forget that you've supported and probably still are supporting the most sold out person in EDM history and his name isn't Armin! Clean up your own shit first before you start talking about others.
Just in case you're wondering you're not cool for saying b.s., yeah.

There is a difference though, I'd be first to be critical to Tiesto if he did something stupid like, i dont know, spin an hour of his old tracks for the masses every gig... i'm guessing that you'd be busy with the feather up armin's arse to notice...

although point taken, i for one am looking forward to armin's ambient minimal playlist, isn't that the Dubfire guestmix on his next show? or what?

Lighten up anyway, its internet chit-chat, don't lose any hair over it.

1st of all he doesn't spin an hour of old tunes, if you're refering to Armin Only then that's a bad example.
Also I too can be critical if I notice something's wrong, unfortunately it's other things that aren't in order at the moment not the music itself, so to criticise him for not playing electro or minimal or whatever would be like shooting yourself in the foot especially because I and I imagine most of his audience doesn't like it, so what point would it be that he'd play it other than occasional song on a random ASOT ep. ?
To make you guys happy, I suppose, you may say he's a crowd pleaser,
but tell me what other function does a DJ have than to please the crowd, it's just a question of WHICH crowd they're pleasing, happy slappy hands in the air people with playing cheesy shit, or murky shady geeks from the TA with playing minimal; what would you choose and what is the difference in the end? Nothing, different DJs exist for different crowds, it's called diversity indeed and thank god it exists.

Then again, ambient weird quirky DJs, don't end up at number 1 do they.

Nope, they just rock clubs and after parties to no-end, consistently, and get paid for it...which is IMO all a DJ could ever want...unless you're not really in it for the music, like the clown in this interview..

Maybe these DJs are just incompetent and can't achieve more...your guess is as good as mine.

By all accounts I'd say they've achieved everything they want to, and are just as competent as these folks who know how to mix "The Anthem" in key...

Really, you speak on behalf of everyone or is that just wishful thinking? I suspect it's the latter.

Not all of us are "jealous" of Armin. Sorry.

I don't think you're understanding my point. Placing high on the DJ Mag poll =/= achieving. It's not wishful thinking, it's this thing called "reality".

And to illustrate my last few posts with a quality example...see Damian Lazarus.

Exactly, many DJs are quite content to have reached the level or status they wanted, without even registering a blip on some popularity contest.

In order to win this magazine, what did Armin and Tiesto have to do. Sell their souls down a really rocky path. Alienating longstanding fanbases so they could touch base with a new "pop culture" crowd.

Jeez, whatever next. I won't predict anything, I'm sure David Lewis is plotting away as we type.
