Wasn't a cop. It was the Fire Marshall. The club was over capacity and they had to close it down. The line was quite long outside.

I heard club Fur, which is right down the street, called the Fire Marshall to let him know what was going on at Ibiza.

Fucked up if you asked me. That guy walked right up to Armin and told him to shut it down.

A similar scenerio to this situation would be if Crobar called the cops to close down Spirit. LOL. Wait, that might have actually happened. Hmm, an interesting thought. ROTFLLLLLL.

Of course an Ibiza employee is going to say "we heard" this and "we heard" that, but in reality when is a fire marshall going to disclose who made the call? lol... When they see a ridiculous line outside, whether NY or DC, obviously red flags go off... No matter who called, if a club has a written capacity under law, and they're flagrantly over, it's nobody's fault but their own.

Well said Eco...I don't believe for one minute that another club was responsible for the closure,,especially at 3-30am (its a bit late in the day).....Total bollocks..The fire marshalls did their job although a little late...

There's certain things that should be left unsaid in public about the situation. We used to work for Fur and we also still have a public image to uphold - so it was probably wrong of me to point the finger in that direction.

But when the fire marshall gets called in the first few weeks of a club being open (when it's at about 20% capacity, it kind of gives you reason to believe that there' more to it). Granted the lines were immense on Saturday and it may have just been one of those instances.

REGARDLESS - From our side, we completely support that there are other options in the DC. I'm good friends with the promoters of not only Buzz but also Global Saturdays and believe it or not, they are also there for us when we need it. DC is definitely a hype spot and growing in terms of clubbing options. There's certainly enough room in this town to host two huge parties side by side and still have a total success... It's been happening for the last 6 months and whoever said 2008 is going to be a bloodbath.... I prefer to look at it as 2008 is going to rock and we all look forward to it.

Don't know who you are, but very well said Anyway, looking at the lineups I'll be making roadtrips there very soon, no matter what promoter's involved...
