why not break down the collection into smaller "bundles" and out source from there? I would do some but cant dedicate to 300+ tracks. If you wanna sell some that you could do without pm me.

couldn't you just let the recording program run? and just flip records when ever it finishes....cut them all up after a few hours of recording?

Any normal TT will do, you just want to make sure the motor is in good shape, because you need it to be steady, and give you even playback. Direct drive or belt driven should not matter, because you are not DJing. You want to stay away from the USB versions for best sound quality, because they have their own analog to digital converters, which may not be as good as the sound card's.
For sound cards, I use a Creative Audigy 2zs, which I bought years ago, when it was brand new, and high tech. Today there are lots more on the market, and from what I have heard from various people who produce, the M-Audio cards have the best analog to digital converters.
If you don't have access to Cool Edit, you can use Audacity, which is free and open source. Ive used it on linux and windows, and it does a lot of the same stuff, but for free! I just like cool edit, and stick with it.
