The only two countries in the middle east with Shia majorities are Iraq and Iran, so if you understand the hatred between Sunni and Shia you would realize that of course Iran is going to help them.

I consider it to be a huge hypocrisy that the only nation who has used nuclear arms and who is constantly at war seeks to keep others from arming themselves.

It seems like we've been in a constant state of war since December 7, 1941, with short periods of peace interspersed in between our ventures. Why can't we be like Switzerland!? Friends with all!!

Rules?! Does the US play by the rules? No it doesnt and the government has caused a lot of damage to it's own people intentionally by creating more radical islamists and refusing to give treatment to government employees hurt by experiments done by the government.

The US can't be peaceful until all it's military and geographic power is gone.....or until people change in the states and are tired of public officials serving secret interests groups.

Just like any superpower, America is taking care of its interests. You being the biggest capitalist would think that its essential to protect a nations interests for economic reasons.

Iran does not have a "right" to do that. Thats a speculation that you are making that we would do that to Canada. Also, the U.S is not there to try and get the Shia and the Sunni going to war with each other. In fact, we are trying to do the opposite. If Iran is such a peaceful nation, why cant they understand the situation and help the U.S solve the problem?

wow are you kidding me?how many times Iran offered its help to the U.S in Iraq?how many times the U.S refused to even sit and talk with them?every time Iran tries to make a step forward this administration comes up with their "evidence" that Iran supports terrorism. To make things worst they just came out and called the revolutionary guard a terrorist organization.

We're not protecting our interest. Iraq couldn't have EVER touched us. It's supposed terrorist ties were never proven. No, we are not protecting out interest. We are imposing our interest on non-conforming oil producing countries and doing it militarily at that! History is repeating itself. Just as every era comes and goes, the form in which empires existed changes with the times. Today's empires aren't colonial. They're now economic. Whose ever economy is the biggest now has more control and itself can become a super power. Wars over land and military colonialism is a thing of the past. It's now about economies.

You do know that when Bush called Iran axis of evil, that was enough to end all cooperation between Iran and the US. In fact, at the time, the Reformists were trying to open up ties. Well, that phrase ended it for Iranian Reformist administration. The people were so enraged, they voted for the most conservative candidate running for president, admadinijad.

Point is, in their view, why should they help the US? The US labelled them the "axis of evil". Iranian's nationalism is the backbone of the society, as if the ancient Persian Empire was just yesterday. Think about if it if your country wasn't a superpower, and the superpower of the world just labelled your country evil. Would you want your leadership helping them? Hell no, they are self-professed enemies of the US.

Has anyone noticed that American targets tend not to look at the real threats to the West but instead tend to look at who is a threat to Israel?

I've said it numerous times now, but Saudi Arabia is the no. 1 threat to the West via al-Qaida. Iran and Iraq pose no threat to anyone but Israel, and the architects of these hostilities are the American neoconservatives, who have as a major strand in their ideology the belief that there is no difference between threats to Israel and threats to America and the reason is because neoconservatives are inundated with Zionists (either because of the Evangelical Christian or Jewish beliefs)

Why would we risk messing with Saudi Arabia, knowing that we really like their oil.
