Right, I and most other libertarians have no problem with state governments running things like schools, emergency services, etc. I support public education, public roads, libraries, all that good stuff.
Paul is such a radical that it seems obvious most of his agenda will never make it through congress. The government is relentless in it's growth...It's tentacles reach into so many areas of the economy that it would be impossible make a dramatic reduction anywhere. The best we can hope for under a Paul administration is that he gets a few good wacks at the monster with a baseball bat...maybe taking the budget down from $3 trillion to $2.5 trillion, and streamlining things across the board...allowing for more openness, accountability, and oversight to the major government institutions. Even with an 8 year term, nothing would be abolished. The IRS and federal reserve would still be around...Those institutions are firmly entrenched in our economy and will never disappear..
Still, he would be fighting the good fight...He would stand for personal liberty against a congress that tries to erode it...and he would save hundreds of billions in tax money by reducing our military presence in 70 countries overseas, and bringing the troops home from Iraq. We could have a rock solid border defended by US military and pay down our debt with the extra savings. And all of our civil liberties will be protected by his veto pen.

| quote: | Nevada Brothel Owner Pimps for Ron Paul

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Campaigning through Northern Nevada today, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul picked up the enthusiastic support of Nevada brothel owner Dennis Hof.
After sitting through a 20-minute press conference with Paul, Hof vowed to put up a collection box outside the door of his Moonlight Bunny Ranch brothel to take up contributions for the candidate who he says, "Makes a lot of sense, doesn't he?"
"I'll do it today," he said. "I'll get all the Bunnies together and we can raise him some money. I'll put up a collection box outside the door. They can drop in $1 dollar, $5 dollar contributions. What a great way for the working girls to support Ron Paul. It's just the right thing to do."
Paul's campaign was surprised to see Hof, flanked by two prostitutes, emerge from a limousine outside of Lawlor Events Center this morning. They arrived with MSNBC journalist Tucker Carlson, who has been traveling with Paul for a piece he's writing for the New Republic.
