Either way, good choice.

The new Pioneers aren't bad. I actually like them better than the Xones. Well, the DJM800 that is. But the DJM700 is supposed to be almost the same thing. How much did you get it for? If you bought it for $1300, you should've bargained for a DJM800. They will sell it to you for $1300. That's how much I got mine for.

If I was to get a Xone, I would not get any other mixer unless it was a Xone 92. I tried almost all the other Xone's except the S2, S6 and V6 and I really hate them.

I use Xones 92's all the time, and while they sound really clean, there's several things that bug me. One of them being the fader curves. You really can't hear anything until the fader is half way up. The Cueing system is kinda funky too. Having no effects is a big minus for me. I don't want to spend an extra $800 on an EFX1000 just to get the same effects as the DJM800.

However, the Xone 92 also has many advantages. Besides the obvious kick ass filters, the Xone has a really cool feature that lets you output each channel individually so you can record your mix in pieces. On other words, if you're mixing live at a party, you can record your mix and go back and edit it to make it sound perfect. There's very few DJ mixers that let you do this. Also, the fact that the Xone has complete tonal controls over the two mics is awesome! Most mixers only have it in one.

Either way, the DJM700 is an awesome mixer. You'll like it a lot and won't regret it. Let us know how you like it.

i got it for about a grand, $1100 with tax. so i think it was a decent deal. i tried getting the 800 but they wouldn't price match it (had a website that sold it for $1450 but they said it wasnt an authorized pioneer dealer.) with the price matching and 20% off it would've come out to about $1200 for the djm-800. plus they didn't have it in stock so i would've had to go to the hollywood store to get it.

the 700 is almost the same as the 800 minus some features.

here is a side by side comparison of the two:

Brett King used the Xone, not me. I just said it looked funny

And the Rane is such a pain in the ass because it's hard to see. ESPECIALLY at Midi, playing in that pitch black box trying to feel around the mixer.

Awesome! Congrats. You'll have countless hours of fun with it. If you can record a video with showing the new effects. I'm curious.

I wish these manufacturers would pull their heads out of their asses and give me a switch so that I could choose pre / post EQ headphone output.
