I had a good time. For my humble 0.02:
Im not sure who the dj(s) before zoltar or whoever was..I liked most of the tracks I heard, mixing wasnt bad but then again he was using a laptop. Main critism I had was the music was wrong for the time. Alot of peak time progressive was being played and its just simply not going to work until you have half the dance floor already full. So.. good tracks..just work on programming.
Zoltar or Zordon or whatever he calls himself could really use some improvement on his mixing skills to say the least. He had alot of decent tracks (that came out years ago), but half of the mixes were either trainwrecked, mis-phrased, or otherwise out of key. Most of the crowd was still by the bars until Cosmic Gate came on.
Cosmic Gate's set I can find no fault with and they did a hell of a job. Great tracks, great mixing, great vibe. I initially expected them to play material exceeding 138 but I was glad to be wrong.
Only improvements I woulda made was the sound system but it wasnt too bad...and to the XM people *SATY OFF THE GODDAMN MICROPHONE!!!* Those lil Radio XM jingles the interrupted Cosmix Gates said every now and then were killin me. I suppose this kinda shit can work at your mainstream events where the socialite crowd really doesnt give a damn about the talent, but at events like this..its highly unnecessary.
Despite the mild annoyances, including a few in the crowd that were doped up on whatever and coming close to getting punched...I had fun Great seeing a few old friends there.
