this is going to be halframbly but here goes. i don't consider myself as a m.i.k.e. expert, but i do know some things, mike has 30+ monikers, the push one, while being his most famous one and the one with the most 'hits' is his weakest. It helps digging deeper with his stuff, yeah ok, most of it sounds the same but then again, mike (and L-Vee for that matter) in his prime (strong emphasis on that) had a VERY distinct sound, you can hear if it's a mike production just by the first bar of beats.
Look beyond his recent productions and beyond 'strange world', 'tranzy state of mind' (what a load of bollocks that track was) & 'the legacy'. as for 'strange world', try the spectrum remix which is really good and REALLY underrated, also stuff under 'the blackmaster' moniker which was recommended by simcut, also solar factor - 'no return', alot of his b-sides are really good, especially the older plastic boy ones. and everything under the 'return of the native' moniker, especially persuasion & his astec remix.
