Wow!!! I don't think his music was minimal at all. I'll tell you what I think happened. Marco played a lot harder than what he normally plays. I think Aaron Michael was playing too hard as an opener for Marco. Aaron was good, but it was wrong style as an opening Dj. He was way way way too trancie. So when Marco went on, he realized he couldn't bring down the energy and slow down, so he picked up where Aaron left of. He banged it out hard. You can tell because his faders on the CDJ's were all the way down (too fast). Also, I think Marco realized it was a trance crowd, so when he was ready to hand over the decks to Fei Fei, he played one trance song. As most good DJ's do, he seemingly worked his style into the format of the night.
The first half was good. The second half bored me. There was some stuff similar to Mauro Picotto's, and then there was some stuff that reminded Julia and me of the old Mauro.

You're totally right! The opening set up was all wrong for Marco, he plays minimal and was forced to play older bangin techno. A little research would have done wonders to the over all vibe of the night. What the hell do I know anyways. LOL
