Re: Re: Re: Your Dream Booth

The Xone's are built like tanks, they don't tend to break easily.

Anything that's not common is a bad idea for a club install and you simply won't see it done.

For hip-hop, the Rane TTM-56/57 would be perfect, but you'd probably want another mixer bolted down for the mix DJ's. Like the Xone 92, or Rane 2016.

Check out clubsystemsinternational.com. It's a magazine that looks at the details of club installs and such, you'll see lots of booth photos.

Possibly look at top of the range Stantons, they have more features, but thats only choosing something different for variety's sake.

I'd say probably a pioneer for the mixer for durability. Don't know how long a Xone would last though because ive never used one. Apparently they do have awesome filters though, even if they are more suited to the EDM DJ.

Maybe a Korg zero4 as it's got everything in one unit, and is cheaper than the DJM800.

There will most definitely be hip hop & top 40 dj's (the bottle service dj's *sigh*) playing there and most in NYC seem to use serato, so the mixer has to work with that.

You just answered your question there. A&H Mixers are not meant for scratching, with the exception of the 02. SPECIALLY that Xone 62. That thing will piss off all hip hop dj's specially because it has studio faders, no curve adjust, and you can't cut.

Basically, here's your options... PIONEER DJM800, or RANE TTM57 or RANE TTM56. If you go with the rane I would get the TTM56 because it has Serato built in. That way you don't worry about it getting Serato stolen.

Trust me, I spin at both hip hop/top 40 clubs and EDM clubs. I speak from experience. An A&H Mixer will not be appropriate for a mixed club. Your DJ's will hate you.

If you want to please both worlds, the Pioneer DJM800 will be the perfect choice.

yup, the djm800 will def be your best choice... hip hoppers will destroy an xone mixer in a matter of months. i'm telling ya, the 800 meets hip hop and edm in the middle. plus it has 4 channels, the rane/serato mixers only have 2... xones are great, but i'd call you a fool if you got one for your club!

Why would you think a DJM-800 would be more durable than a Xone 92? I've played with both, I don't think so.

The one component that will die on both is the crossfader.

make sure you have one outlet free on the same grounding as your amps will be on...that way you can eliminate ground loop issues in many cases...

(or you don't have grounding pin in outlets in US? I am not sure)

Freak seems to have nailed it.

Just one thing...those guys saying get two CDJs and/or two vinyl decks? Err....what if one breaks? Then you're fucked. Always always always have a spare.
