Not sure we're on the same page here
You need a mixer with channel level indicators. No headphones required, cue like I mentioned, get the lights to pop at peak as close as possible, mix in slowly and listen, correct any error, and finish. Not the hardest thing ever, and made easier with CDJs that can give you a rough idea of bpm

Yes, they do. Dave will make a few changes on the plane to the next show. But, we saw them three nights in a row and they had the same set everytime with the exception of one or two tracks.

oh wait. i get what you're saying now. even when you bring it in slowly, more than likely the crowd will not notice it. maybe that's what peter hook is doing.

This just shows any douche can pre mix a cd and no one would really know. I'm sure the people in the club have no clue and its only after getting this clip that we really know whats going on.
This is why Djing has become a joke what with the prevalence of cd-mixing and ableton

The way Hook is acting is so weird, and I finally put my finger on it I think;
He has that nervous look and energy of someone who knows they're living a lie on stage, but is PRAYING that no one finds out...kind of like Ashlee Simpson that time on SNL, lol.
He's not acting naturally, because he's not MIXING naturally. And that's why his on-stage presence is over the top and doesn't ring true...IMHO

lol i saw some chick at circus awhile ago when spundae was still there, mixing tracks back to back on ableton. she wasn't using headphones and i doubt she was even eqing. i asked her...."you don't have to beatmath with that huh?" and she was like "no it helps me interact with the crowd more."

The people that suck are taking advantage of this as an easy way out.
The people that are good and love djing, use this to take there music to a different level
