I've never been to Zone if you can believe that, and I'll probably never go either. I love the DJs and the music, but dude, I just can't do it.
That's not to say that I don't after hour party, at least once a month I will trek down to Stereo for my after hours fix...

Re: Comfort Zone - I don't get it

Alright, so I'm hoping someone can help me out with this.
I've been to CZ three or four times now, and I can't honestly say I've ever had a good time there. But at the same time, I see loads of people, here and elsewhere, talking about how awesome a time they always seem to have at Zone, and how much they look forward to future events. So I'm trying to figure out why I can't ever enjoy it.
Obviously, the music is awesome. No question. But the atmosphere there just seems so unfriendly and negative. I remember being genuinely scared there on more than one occasion. Is it all just in my head? Am I hanging out in the wrong places? Should I not be talking to people while I'm there? Apparently there's an upstairs....what's there?
Usually what ends up happening when I find myself at zone is that I have trouble getting into the dance floor - because I can't see and am afraid of the people around me. I end up sitting on the patio most of the time and smoking. Either there or in the lounge to the right of the DJ booth.
So I guess what I'm asking is for someone to please explain Comfort Zone to me. I really want to be able to enjoy it, since it is THE afterhours place in Toronto, and I live a 10-15 minute walk away from it, but I just haven't been able to up to this point.

I think it's because you are twelve....
Seriously though, you need to get talking to people. I have thrown AWESOME after parties with some cool people - lawyers, people in IT, all walks of life.
Girls HAVE to display a little attitude... Be respectful and stop panicking about people around you...or lay off the coke. lol
Just get on with enjoying the music. Take some buddies with you next time so you feel a little more 'involved'.
The patio just does not do it for me. I am there for the music.
If you are genuinely wary - dance at the edge of the crowd, or try the area as you walk in (away from the entrance).
I do think that maybe your age has something to do with it. I'm gettin' on a bit, but my age helps me to read people a little better. That I am certain of.
Keep trying / going.
