New Hampshire is going to be the real test. It's a modern state with a diverse population. If Paul doesn't get 2nd or 3rd there, it's over. I think he has a very good chance of beating at least two of the "major" candidates though.

New Hampshire is 96% white, Iowa is 94% white. Each state is composed roughly 24% by college grads... basically, the populations are both pretty compatible.

But Iowa has a higher Evangelical population, which hurts Paul and helps Huckabee.

They commented on CNN last night that a Republican strategist who's unaffiliated equated Huckabee winning to Pat Robertson doing the same.

How can anyone like her? She is the most fake person I've seen in my life. She has 50 advisers and everything she says is completely poll driven...a pure power hungry bitch.

That poll was taken before the Iowa caucus. Expect those numbers to narrow drastically (and I would forecast Obama overtaking her in the polls) leading up to next week's NH primary.

Plus I believe that was the Reuters-Zogby poll, and Zogby is notorious for being the consistent outlier in poll numbers.

See, it's already started:

Barack Obama, fresh from his victory in Iowa, now holds a ten point lead over Hillary Clinton in New Hampshire. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of the race found Obama with 37% of the vote while Clinton earns 27%. John Edwards is the only other candidate in double digits, with 19% support. Bill Richardson is the choice for 8%.

The other polls will quickly follow. Honestly I'm no fan of our current caucus system either - having one state essentially setting the tone for the remaining 49 other states.

Yeah, and an obscure, backwater state at that. I'll have to look into why Iowa was picked in the first place.

just because it's not a metropolitan, center-of-the-progressive universe doesn't mean there aren't some damn fine and well informed Americans there who care deeply for the well being of their country.
