Both should be legal as both are victimless crimes; where no person's rights (life, liberty, or property) are infringed upon.

But for some reason in "the land of the free", the government criminalizes behavior that which is victimless. All parties are willing participants! Granted, both should heavily regulated, but in a purely legal sense, they should be decriminalized.

I think you can blame backwards fuckwit "moral majority" Christian America for this one. And most other rules that don't make a shred of sense or seem to be a double-standard.

Also, as pornography is a widespread entertainment industry, it can be taxed and regulated. Prostitution may be one of the world's oldest professions, but it is still a sort of "fringe" job that, despite its prevalence, is quite free from the constant economic scrutiny of an overbearing government body, and policy-makers don't like that one bit.
